Rankings

Every sitting member of the House and Senate, ranked by the measure you pick. Ranks count within the chamber filter: #1 in Senate is first among senators. Figures here are the ones each member's own page shows.

Methodology: Effectiveness

Counts how far each member's own bills and joint resolutions got in the 119th Congress so far: introduced, out of committee, passed a chamber, passed both, became law, weighted so substantive bills count more than ceremonial ones and so the average member scores 1.00. "Expected" is the average for members in the same position (majority or minority party; chair, ranking member or neither), since majority-party chairs naturally pass more. Scored against each chamber's own benchmark, so a 2.0 means twice the expected in either chamber. Method of the Center for Effective Lawmaking, with congress.gov data in place of licensed sources. Everyone with bills on file is scored; delegates are not, since the method compares voting members. "Years in office" is the member's total time in Congress, in either chamber, counted to today from the terms in the public congress-legislators file, the same count as "In Congress" on the member's page (a new member reads "<1"); tap it to sort by it.
