SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the No Bets on Wildfires Act .

SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON EVENT CONTRACTS ON WILDFIRES.

Section 5c of the Commodity Exchange Act ( 7 U.S.C. 7a–2 ) is amended by adding at the end the following:

(d) Prohibition on event contracts relating to wildfires. A registered entity shall not list for trading or accept for clearing on or through the registered entity any agreement, contract, transaction, or swap that involves a wildfire caused by whatever means.
